We often get asked how we manage to find such perfect chefs for the job or how we have such quality candidates on our books, so we thought it was about time that we gave you a behind the scenes peek at Galor with a series of newsletters that will tell all from what makes a Galor chef to what you can expect from them when you hire one.

It goes without saying that all of our chefs at Galor are of the highest possible calibre. We scout, screen, select and train our private chefs to cater for your specific needs, palette and preferences. Whether catering for royalty, celebrities or your own VIPs, whether it’s for 2 or 50 people, for an event in the UK or international, nothing is too much trouble for our chefs and they insist on the highest possible quality to ensure the best culinary experience every time.

It isn’t just that our chefs need to have the technical skills or have had the experience of working in a Michelin star restaurant, it is also the intra and interpersonal skills that are key to working as a Galor private chef. The key qualities we insist on are organisation, creativity, the ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds, good time management, a methodical approach, flexibility, versatility and a great attitude.

Another vital component is that our chefs keep up to date with nutritional information, trends, health updates and styles of cuisine so that they can utilise this in designing the clients bespoke menus. It is this attention to detail that ensures your events are taken to the next level.

The Galor process for selecting a chef is intense and not everyone is taken on to our books. As well as an intensive interview process, which often involves a cooking trial, we thoroughly check the chefs background, experience, references and talk to the latest employers. This attention to detail helps us to make sure we get to know the chefs so that we can match them up on personality as well as technical ability. This means that whether for a one off event or a more permanent placement, we can ensure that you have a chef who suits you and your family.
